Hello Murphy Clan! Welcome to the new blog

Hi everyone! I hope you don't mind, but I've taken the liberty of creating a blog for our entire family (whether you're named Murphy or not is irrelevant -- you know who you are!).

Why create a family blog? It's because we all get these email updates, and some of us are on Facebook, but it's all piecemeal and it's hard to keep up with everyone. This is one central place where we can all post.

Who can post? Anyone who wants to! I just need to add you to the list of authors -- just email me and I'll do it ASAP.

What can we use this blog for? Anything! Some ideas:
  • Updates on your family. kids playing soccer, taking ballet, getting good grades ... maybe you're moving, or buying a house, or whatever. Good way to stay in touch.
  • Announcements and celebrations. Wish people happy birthday, announce a graduation, celebrate an anniversary, winning the lottery, anything!
  • Updates on urgent situations. We've had a couple of close calls recently, and everyone is hungry for information. This is a good central way to get that info out to the whole family!
So email me to get added to the author list, and start posting updates right away! It's pretty easy to post -- just log in, go to "create a post", add a title in the title box, then start typing in the big text box. You can do formatting (bold, italics, etc) and add images if you want to get all fancy.

You can also subscribe to the blog if you know how to do that, so that updates will be in your feed reader. Or just bookmark it and check back once or twice a week or however obsessive you want to be.

Also be sure to read the comments below each post, if there are any, and comment on other people's post. It's a good way to keep a discussion together, instead of everyone creating separate posts on the same topic.

Welcome to the hood.
